Mona Mikael, Psy. D.

Dr. Mona Mikael is a licensed psychologist specializing in neuro-rehabilitation and brain injury assessment. She actively works with a range of clients including adolescents, young adults, military veterans, and seasoned adults who are struggling to cope with a wide range of emotional, acute, acquired, and degenerative cognitive conditions including:

--TBI/concussion
--Attention deficit
--Learning disabilities
--Post-traumatic distress
--Dementia
--Epilepsy
--Spinal cord injury
--Chronic pain

She works closely with both the afflicted individual and their caregiver(s), along with an interdisciplinary team approach. Rehabilitation treatment includes goal oriented problem-solving, chronic pain management, vocational therapy, life transitions, family issues, environmental accommodation(s), and anxiety management.
 
Dr. Mikael completed extensive training in neuropsychological assessment and advanced cognitive rehabilitation interventions, including use of empirically driven cognitive-behavioral strategy implementation, memory and attention training, executive functioning /problem-solving skills training, organization, and emotion regulation. She is also serves as a research clinician treating at-risk youth with Harbor-UCLA's CARE program, a NIMH-funded study. 
 
Dr. Mikael completed a formal doctoral internship and two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the prestigious New York University School of Medicine's Langone Medical Center, Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine. She received her Psy.D. (Doctorate in Clinical Psychology) and M.A. from Pepperdine University. She is board eligible for advanced certification (ABRP).
